This week you and your team will be meeting with a vendor that will serve some of your communication technology needs. You have worked with this vendor on several other projects in the past and have a great relationship with them. During your meeting, one of the sales managers from the vending company says to your team that she believes many people understand the importance of communication on a project. Yet, so many projects still suffer from communication problems. You and your team agreed with the sales manager's opinion but could not agree on the reasoning. Everyone, including the two sales managers you were meeting with, had different examples and reasons for why communication problems were such a big risk for organizational projects.

In a few paragraphs respond to the following questions:

• Explain why communication problems continue to plague projects. Does it have to do with leadership, team dynamics, or organizational culture? Discuss some of the reasons why so many organizations still struggle with managing communication in their own projects. Make sure to defend your position and examples.
• What are three examples of how communication can impact your success as the project manager for this project. Discuss why the three communication issues are risky to the project and how you can avoid making these mistakes as a leader. Provide examples.
