Throughout our eight weeks together, we will be examining a variety of self-subjects that have timeless relevance in our lives. This week, please watch the Ted Talk entitled Fearless Leadership: Frances Hesselbein at TedxMidAtlantic (13:40). Frances Richards Hesselbein was a remarkable leader, born in 1915 in nearby Johnstown, Pennsylvania...she just passed away at 107 in December 2022! She served as the CEO of the Girl Scouts of the USA, from 1976 to 1990. Frances never retired, operating the Leader to Leader Institute (formerly known as the Peter F. Drucker Foundation for Nonprofit Management), that foundation being renamed in Hesselbein's honor in 2012. Hesselbein was the co-editor of 27 books and the author of two books recounting her life in leadership roles - she was also awarded 22 honorary doctoral degrees. She was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1998 by former President Bill Clinton.
