Throughout the semester, we have worked on collecting requirements, creating a persona and

proposing a system for the local shopkeeper. Requirements collection was conducted using various

techniques such as observation, interviewing and questionnaires. The next phase of the project

involves design, prototyping, construction and evaluation. You will be required to do the

following:

a) Visit the shopkeeper and show them the proposed system and the requirements that you

extracted during the preliminary phase and get their views and suggestions. Remember you

are showing them the proposed system based on the challenges you collected during the

observation, requirements and persona phase. Tweak the requirements based on their

suggestions and comments. Time: 2-3 days

(5mks)

b) Based on the new requirements, you are required to design a low fidelity prototype either

using wireframes or using a low fidelity tool to create the initial system design. (Remember

the shopkeeper is the main stakeholder and may not be able to understand if you use a very

low-level wireframe. Basically take into considerations what the shopkeeper might benefit

from.) You may use a tool such as https://app.moqups.com or https://wireframe.cc. Once

designed, visit the shopkeeper to get further suggestions and clarifications to improve the

system. Time: 1 week

(10mks)

c) Based on the new requirements, you are required to design a high low-level fidelity

prototype either using wireframes or using a low fidelity tool to create the initial system

design. It is recommended that you have five-screen wireframes. (Remember we are not

developing a fully working system, rather designing a system based on various functions.

Means I am not interested in the database or your code). Make sure that you arrange this

screens in a way the shopkeeper can follow through for the next step. Time: 2 Weeks

(20mks)

d) The final step involves running an evaluation with the shopkeeper to find out whether the

requirements were met or not. Determine the type of evaluation to run. You will be required

to pick the screens from c) above and show them to the shopkeeper and check whether the

requirements were met or not. Additionally, discuss any challenges you faced. Time: 2-3

days

(5mks)At the conclusion of the exercise, you will compile a document that shows the steps taken and will

include the following:

i.

Proposed System and the shopkeeper final requirements

ii.

The low fidelity prototype and shopkeeper suggestions

iii.

The high fidelity prototypes

iv.

Evaluation report with challenges outlined.
