The budgeted information for the month ended 31 October 2021 is as follows: 2,400 units Production and sales Total Sales Revenue and Costs: RM Sales 148,800 Direct Materials 88,800kg at RM0.60 53,280 Direct Labour 3,960 hours at RM4.10 16,236 Variable Overheads 14,256 Fixed Overheads 21,780 The following actual information is also available for the month ended 31 October 2021: Production 2,500 units Sales 2,300 units Actual selling price and cost per unit: RM Selling Price 60 Direct materials 35kgs at RM0.63 22.05 Direct labour 1.75 hours at RM3.90 6.825 Variable overheads 6,475 Fixed overheads 6 Required: (a) Based on the information provided above, calculate the following variances for the month ended 31 October 2021: ( ) Material price, usage and cost variance. (3 marks) (ii) Labour rate, efficiency and cost variance. (3 marks) (ii) Variable production overhead expenditure, efficiency. (2 marks) (iv) Fixed production overhead expenditure and efficiency.
