title and abstract for proposed project issue analysis 

The purpose of this assessment is for you to refine your thoughts by writing an abstract on a proposed project issue based on a literature review. A project issue you're exploring must come from one of the topics in this course. The abstract should be about 250 words highlighting the following

1. The purpose of your topic/proposed project issue. See Developing research questions to help you. Plus, when conducting preliminary research, refer to the below project management journals.

2. Explanation of why your topic/proposed project issue is important in your chosen field(s). 3. Statement about what the problem/gap or proposed project issue is. 4. Your approach to find a potential solution or fill the gap to the proposed project issue. 5. Your key message.

Remember to have a look at the structure of a variety of abstracts from relevant journal articles as a guide. What information do they include? What structure do they follow? You can always model your abstract on these conventions. You will also need to provide a reference(s) from one of the three project management journals listed below you are basing your abstract or proposed project issue on. Other references can come from outside of the project management journals as long as they are related to your project issue that you are exploring. Here are the four main project management journals for you to explore:

• International Journal of Project Management
• Project Management Journal
• International Journal of Managing Projects in Business
• Project Leadership and Society

Grading criteria

Explanation: How well have you explained the project issue? What is already known about the issue? What are the gap(s)? How important is it in your chosen field(s)? Problem: How well have you articulated the problem? Is the problem relevant to your chosen field(s)? Does it "trigger" surprise/interest? Solution: How well does your proposed solution align with the problem? Is it based on the latest in research and insights? APA style and references: How well have you followed the APA 7th edition referencing style? And, how many relevant, primary sources of information including peer reviewed have you used?
