To begin my discussion I would like to compare and contrast trademark and copyright. Trademarks would be defined as a "...word, name, symbol, or device or any combination thereof adopted and used by a manufacturer or merchant to identify his goods and distinguish them from those manufactured or sold by others" (Moorman, 2020). In my own words, based on the definition provided by the text, trademarks are marks that are used to identify a brand, company, or product that are protected by law.

Now, look at copyrights. Copyrights began as a way to promote creativity by protecting rights to a creative work whether that be for writing, art, or music. Therefore, trademarks are used as a way to represent the brand, company, or service while copyrights are used to protect the context or the actual product itself.
