To commence, Conict Theory focuses on the meaning of a power role in society and how it can be used to gain control over others. A key point in the Conflict Theory states, society is divided by two groups: those with and those without. Throughout this case study, Amina is a victim of work related sexual harassment by her boss, Daniel. Once Daniel was confronted by Amina, he immediately got defensive and claimed Amina was simply overreacting. At this point, Amina felt powerless because she had no evidence against the verbal, sexual remarks. She was only one week into her new job and Daniel was at a higher seniority than her within the company. If Amina pursued a sexual harassment claim against Daniel, she could potentially lose her new job that she worked very hard to earn. This ultimately relates directly towards the Conflict Theory. This is due to the fact, Daniel is the one with nancial stability, and Amina is the one without. In other words, Daniel is a part of the one side of society (those with) and Amina is a part of the other side of society (those without).
