?I took the personality test and I am type B personalitysee results below

You have completed the A/B Personality Test.

Your score is 4, out of 10. This means that you are a Type B.

The two types in A/B theory

Type A

The theory describes a Type A individual as ambitious, rigidlyorganized, highly status conscious, can be sensitive, care forother people, are truthful, impatient, always try to help others, take on more than they can handle, want other people to get to thepoint, proactive, and obsessed with time management. People withType A personalities are often high-achieving "workaholics" whomulti-task, push themselves with deadlines, and hate both delaysand ambivalence.

In his 1996 book, Type A Behavior: Its Diagnosis and Treatment,Friedman suggests that Type A behavior is expressed in three majorsymptoms: free-floating hostility, which can be triggered by evenminor incidents; time urgency and impatience, which causesirritation and exasperation usually described as being"short-fused"; and a competitive drive, which causes stress and anachievement-driven mentality. The first of these symptoms isbelieved to be covert and therefore less observable, while theother two are more overt.

Type B

The theory describes Type B individuals as a contrast to thosewith Type A personalities. People with Type B personality bydefinition generally live at a lower stress level and typicallywork steadily, enjoying achievement but not becoming stressed whenthey are not achieved. When faced with competition, they do notmind losing and either enjoy the game or back down. They may becreative and enjoy exploring ideas and concepts. They are oftenreflective, thinking about the outer and inner worlds. Furthermore,Type B personalities may have a poor sense of time schedule and canbe predominately right brained thinkers.

Connection to heart disease

The first evidence that type A personality was related to heartdisease was published by Rosenman and colleagues in the followupreport of Western Collaborative Group Study. They found:

The type A behavior pattern was strongly related to the CHDincidence, and this association could not be explained byassociation of behavior pattern with any single predictive riskfactor or with any combination of them.

However, a meta-analysis (Myrtek, 2001) of all the studies donesince then found no relation:

Taking all studies on TAP together, no significant associationbetween TAP and CHD can be observed (R=0.003, P=0.213, n=74,326).Exclusion of the WCGS renders a near zero result. It may beconcluded that TAP is not a risk factor for CHD.
