Tom is an employee of GreatCuts Ltd, a new hairdressing company in London. In order to enhance its marketing, the company sends emails to registered users of its website promising free song downloading every time they attend the hairdresser. Karen goes to GreatCuts for a haircut that includes a revitalizing treatment which is meant to return her hair to her original flexibility and density. After the treatment, she realizes that her hair colour has changed. She complains to Tom who indicates that this happens from time to time but it is not much that they can do. Quite frustrated, Karen goes home and, on her way, she downloads some songs with the code that she was provided to find out that her phone has crashed and that she is unable to use it anymore. Please advise Karen as to her actions and contemplate two additional scenarios: a) The case where Tom is not an employee but self-employed and b) the case that GreatCuts is not a limited company but a sole trader set-up and owned by Kevin Curl.
