Topic: Skills and Roles of a Project Manager

What are the most important skills/abilities and roles for a Project Manager to have? Are people with technical or non-technical skills more important? Why?

Professor Note:

What I am looking for here are skills (hard skills/soft skills). Do not just list the skills a Project Manager needs. You need to correlate the skills and why they are important. Give examples. Show me that you understand what it takes to be a Project Manager.

Also, there is definitely a difference in Project Managers that are technical and non-technical (know and understand the difference!). Non-technical does not mean a lesser PM or does not understand the business. Hopefully, in the last essay assignment, you saw job postings that looked for a certain skill set. For example, I have never worked in the construction field, but I am qualified to work in that field. How and why? Because project management is the SAME. Learn the basics and you can do anything!

You need to convince me you have what it takes to be a Project Manager and think "Would she hire me?"
