Trace the development of international and domestic drug policy; explain the different policy options we have available to us; describe their strengths, weaknesses, and goals; and determine, based on your understanding, what the best policy option would be to regulate drugs here in the United States. In particular, you should respond to each of the following points: 

1. How, historically, have we approached the regulation of drugs internationally and domestically (leading up to the mid-19005)?
2. What is regarded as the origin of contemporary international and U,S. drug policy?
3. what specific piece of legislation initiated the system we currently have in place?
4. What are the different policy options available to us today and how do they differ from one another?
5. What are the goals, strengths, and weaknesses of each policy option? Based on your own personal beliefs, morals, and values, what do you think is the best way to regulate drugs in society?
6. You may use pieces of several different policy options and/or favor one more than others.
