Q.2 Shell and tube heat exchangers are vital for the oil and gas process industries. They need to be regularly maintained for their best performance. During the periodic maintenance schedule, once in every 12 weeks for a shell and tube heat exchanger, following activities as shown in Table 2 are required to be carried out in Al Humaid oil and refinery plant. The company works for 8 hours per day and 5 days per week. During maintenance, the heat exchanger needs to be shut down completely affecting the production output. Thus in order to complete the maintenance work in the specified time duration only, the maintenance manager needs to understand the critical activities to be focused. (0) Construct a network activity on node diagram to understand the critical activities and critical path by estimating the Earliest start (ES) Latest finish (LF) and Slack for each (ii) Estimate the expected duration of the maintenance.
