Diagnostic Essay- My Writing Career

During my early years in middle school, writing did not involve any expertise. That was the time when writing was about something. The genre concerned were mostly fictional or cartoons that had no connection with reality. Moreover, the motivation was to make people happy by seeing the pictures and reading them.

As I approach high school, it got a lot different because the professional writing came into the picture where the genre had changed, where we had to talk more about social and political issues.

In today's world, the audience and genre have changed how we used to talk more about current and real issues, which has social media attached to it today.

Once I knew to read and write I thought it would be simple, but it is not that simple as it seems to write professionally. First, I need to learn new writing skills that I have been struggling with for years, language and incorrect tone. For example, a simple email to a colleague at work came across the wrong way by the tone I used.

I am not too fond of writing. But by taking the COM101, I hope to improve my writing skills and different genres and transfer and be more confident and have the right tone via written communication.
