Recently the amount of data that is being created, stored digitally and globally is increasing enormously. Transforming data digitally will request a lot of power consumptions and hardwares. Therefore, it will increase the environmental impact of digital devices, which in return will increase the environmental impression of Information and Communication Technology as they are becoming more widespread in the human life.

While technology and digital transformation are one of the sectors that have achieved great efficiency on human life, however it remains unsustainable, affects the environment, and causes damage.

You are working in Lets Get Digital Organization under the Research and Development Department. As a part of your role as a researcher, you have to implement a research in one of the following topics to explain how we can have greener and brighter future while using digital transformation without affecting the environment.

Internet of Things (IOT) enable retail waste and recycling solutions.

Assignment activity and guidance

Task 1) Create a comprehensive Project Management Plan by doing the following:

Propose the project aims, objectives and milestones.

Arrange the scope, time, risk, cost, communication and resources.

Generate a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) with clearly activities and milestones.

Make a Gantt Chart to illustrate the project schedule with realistic time allocated for each activity and clearly defined deadlines.

Task 2) Small Scale Research

Carry out a research to investigate the impact of digital endpoint devices and the ways to reduce environmental damage by applying appropriate qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.

In addition, you should include a brief introduction to the selected research topic and cover digital endpoint devices use and the impact of them to the environment.

Measure and Determine the reliability, accuracy and the appropriateness of the research methods applied. In addition, your answer also should include a critical evaluation of the project management process and a justification to the selected research methodologies.

Task 3) Communicate Appropriate Findings

Extract and Identify appropriate tools and techniques in the project development stages.

Outline appropriate recommendations in the form of a presentation after research and data analysis to draw effective and meaningful conclusions based on your analysis of research and data.

Determine the tools that you have used in your research and how did it give a share in to your findings.

Criticise and Measure the research, data analysis tools you have used in your project.

Task 4) Review on the Research and Performance

Review the objectives of the project of your own learning experience you gained by following a quality research and the project management process.

Reflect how the project specifically helped and supported you to improve your own learning and performance in this project.

Review and Judge the ways in which the research project carried out the support and benefits of the organizations to sustain its performance while reducing environmental damage.
