Transport is at the center of many economic and social development challenges,

accounting for about 64% of global oil consumption, 27% of all energy use, and 23% of the worlds energy-related carbon dioxide emissions (IISD, 2022). Rethinking and

revamping transit in the post-COVID era by implementing structural changes would go a

long way toward reinforcing some of the positive impacts on emission levels and air

quality created by efforts to curb the pandemic. In light of this statement research and discuss the following:

1. The role of transport in relation to the United Nations sustainable development goals.

2. Discuss the progress and challenges made in creating a sustainable National transport sector.

3. Evaluate three approaches that the government of Jamaica could adopt to preserve the sustainability of the transportation sector.
