Two toy cars are placed on a frictionless horizontal Linear AirTrack. Car 1 has a mass M1 of 120 g and Car 2 has a mass M2 of 180 g. The two cars are set in motion to make a head-on collision as shown in the figure. Car 1 is initially moving at 3.60 m/s to the right and Car 2 is initially moving at 1.40 m/s to the left. Use the right direction as +x. After they collide Car 1 moves to the left at 1.10 m/s. During the collision the cars remain in contact for only 0.16 s before separating. Determine the magnitude of the average force (N) that Car 1 exerts on Car 2 during the collision. Give answer to three places to the right of the decimal.
