Understanding the needs of the worker can go a long way in increasing morale in employees. Employees who's basic needs have not been met are more likely to have lower motivation or morale. Employees who feel equity is not properly distributed, may become demoralized and produce less (Cohen et al., 2022). For instance, if two employees were given the same raise, yet one believed they did more to deserve that increase, they would be less motivated due to the lack of distributive justice.
