Unit #4 Writing Assignment: Business Plan

In this unit, you will be producing a business plan for a company / business of your own imagining and creation. This writing project will utilize the knowledge and information contained in the Unit 4 lecture, and it will draw from your readings of the sample business plans posted above.

Your business plan must contain the following:

• A one-page summary of your idea for your business plan.
• A market analysis that shows your knowledge of and research into the market; your targeted customer base; an evaluation of your competitors; and your company's place in the history and outlook of the industry.
• A barriers to entry section that identifies challenges to the company's realization of its goals.
• A description of the company's organization and management, which outlines your company's organizational structure; identifies your management team by name, biographical background, responsibilities, and percentage of ownership of the company. Any key positions yet unfilled also need to be identified.
• A marketing and sales strategy that describes how you will reach target customers and enter the market and lists details about pricing, promotion, and distribution.
• A financial projections section that describes your sources of initial revenue / capital and forecasts your company's financial growth in the first five years of its running.
• An executive summary that provides a brief overview of your plan, containing your name/ title, services / products, company mission, and the goal / purpose of the plan itself.

Note: The entirety of the business plan must be 8-10 pages in detail.
