A well- established interaction mechanism is that currents could be induced in living tissues by magnetic fields. In our daily life, electricity is almost everywhere, in overhead power lines, wiring in buildings and electrical appliances in our homes. All electric flows have an associated magnetic field, and the intensity of magnetic fields decreases with distance from the field source. Please apply the Biot-Savart law to solve the following questions: (a) Find H at P (2, 3, 4) if there is a current filament on the z axis carrying 8 mA in the az direction; (4 marks) (b) Repeat if the filament is located at x = =1, y = 2; (4 marks) (c) Find H if both filaments are present. (4 marks) (d) What is the magnetic hysteresis in ferromagnetic materials ? and also try to explain the reason for such a phenomenon. (4 marks)
