ABC organization wants to create a database for its HR department. A department is identified by a department number. ABC also wants to store the name and location of each department. A department employs many employees, but each employee is employed by only one department.

Some employees are not assigned to any department, but each department has to have at least one employee. For each employee, ABC wants to keep track of the employee number, name, social security number, and address.

ABC also wants to record information about its divisions. A division has a number and name. Each division operates many departments, but each department is operated by only one division. To accommodate future structural changes, a department doesn't have to be operated by a division, but a division cannot exist without a department.

An employee may be assigned many projects, and a project may have many employees assigned to it. For each project, project name, estimate time, and estimate cost must be captured. ABC also wants to keep track of employee hours on each project. Since there are always new project plans, a project may not have any employees if it is in planning stage. Also, not all employees have to be assigned a project.

A department must be managed by exactly one employee, and an employee can manage only one department. Not all employees can manage departments. Further, an employee runs a given division, and each division must be run by exactly one employee. It is possible that an employee may not run any divisions if he/she does not have the qualifications.
