Using Burger software, startup GravMag program located on the desktop. Program opens in Model window; Select WindowSection In View menu, select gravity and uncheck induced magnetics. To add points, click the New button then click on lower panel of model window. Click on a value under the X coordinate. New point will be between that value and the next. Alternatively, click on the body and move the black squares to different shapes.
I. Make an octagon or similar spherelike shape. Keep the default density. Position the body near the surface. From window select gravity data to plot the curve. Calculate the depth using the width approximation. Does your width calculation agree with the model? Save your model and print the result.
II Now move the shape deeper and adjust to center the curve. In the cross section window, you can drag you object to move deeper. Repeat the width calculation. Discuss and print your result.
III. Now change the density of the object while keeping the same depth and shape. Discuss and print your result.
