Using Desmos.com/calculator to create picture of a flower.

The picture must meet the following criteria:

A minimum of 10 non-linear functions must be used

3 of these 5 types of functions must be used: Quadratic, Absolute Value, Square Root, Reciprocal, Linear

Part 2:

In addition to the picture you must also:

1. Choose 4 different functions from your picture. Each function must contain the transformation below. MUST HIGHLIGHT THE SPECIFIC TRANSFORMATION LISTED IN YELLOW OR CHANGE THE TEXT COLOUR TO RED.

Function Equation 1 - shows a reflection in the x-axis

Function Equation 2 - includes a vertical stretch

Function Equation 3- includes a vertical shift

Function Equation 4 - includes a horizontal shift

For each of the above functions:

a.State the name of the type of function used

b.Identify the required transformation in each equation (highlight in yellow)

c.Explain why the reflection, stretch or shift was necessary to help create picture.

1. Choose another 4 different functions (different from above) where the domain and/or range was restricted. Explain why it was necessary to restrict the domain and/or range for each.
