The second assignment is to develop a strategic plan for the HIM department to prevent the backlogs and issues that were described in this case. The plan should include mission and vision statements for the department, and strategic goals and objectives, implementation plan, and measurements for success (see table 28.1 (6th) or 29.1 (5th) in your text). These may be similar to those you developed in your corrective action plan.
