Verizon Wireless's Hiring Process:
- Visit the Career page on Verizon's website and make a profile for yourself.
- Select a job position that interests you after making a profile.
- Apply to that selected job position by uploading your resume, driver's license (or some form of identification), and LinkedIn profile link.
- After applying for the position, complete the screening questionnaire that populates after you have uploaded all personal documentation.
- If all requirements are met, an HR representative will contact you through email and your Verizon career portal to schedule the first round of interviews which is the "technical phone screen interview".
- Schedule a time to perform this technical phone screen interview.
- Perform the technical phone screen interview, where you will be required to answer the following questions: "what makes you a good fit for this role?", and "where do you see yourself in the upcoming 10 years".
- If the previous interview goes well, you must complete the required online tests and assessments that consist of analyzing your personality, math, and verbal skills. These tests and assessments take 90 minutes (about 1 and a half hours) to finish and consist of 75 questions that cover the following 4 sections: verbal, analytical, mental, and technical ability.
- If you pass the previous test/assessment, you will schedule a time to meet for an onsite interview.
- Perform the onsite meeting which will cover 3-5 rounds of coding and other technical skills assessments. This interview will last up to 2-3 hours and includes 3 sections that are standard to Verizon, and 1 job-specific section covering the following: quantitative aptitude, verbal ability and critical reasoning, logical reasoning, and role play.
- If the previous interview goes well, schedule the technical interview.
- Perform the technical interview, which depends on the position that you are specifically applying for. Your position could be related to the following fields: programming, data analysis, data structures, algorithms, etc. Within this interview, you will have to answer several technical interview questions on system design, data structure, and other related topics.
- If the previous interview goes well, schedule the final interview, the "behavioral interview".
- Perform the behavioral interview, where an HR representative will provide hypothetical scenarios, in which you will then be required to answer how you would handle the situation. This gives HR the opportunity to assess your problem-solving skills and your ability to handle workplace issues.
- If the previous interview goes well, Verizon's recruiter will contact you through email or your career portal to let you know they are going to be running a background check. This background check will take up to 2 days to complete.
- Once the background check is finalized and they have assessed your job and education history, they will process your application and decide on your employment status. This will take about 2 weeks to complete. If they decide they want to hire you, HR will reach out and offer you the job.
