Veronica discovered Madame Zee, a fortune teller whom she calls her "Mystic Mama", when she was in her late teens. Since then she has regularly been consulting Madame Zee for advice on all aspects of her life at a cost of R350 per session, and has grown to trust Madame Zee implicitly. Veronica believes that, as Madame Zee has the ability to see into the future, she is always able to guide her and has her best interests at heart.
Veronica is heartbroken. Her father died six months ago and on top of her grief, her fiance called off their engagement just two weeks before the wedding. She rushes to Madame Zee for guidance and reassurance. She pays Madame Zee the consultation fee. Madame Zee convinces Veronica that her fiance will return to her once she signs over her inheritance of R2 million from her late father's estate to Madame Zee. Veronica contracts with Madame Zee believing that it will help get her fiance back, and signs over her inheritance. However, she was bitterly disappointed when her wedding day arrived, and her fiance had still not returned to her.
Advise Veronica fully on her legal position in trying to get her inheritance back from Madame Zee. Refer to relevant sources of law.
