Vince Brown walked into a bar where he met jason jones for a drink brown tells jones that he is interested in purchasing some art. jone offers to sell brown a beautiful and a very rare painting polar bear for $500.00 if brown pays cash for the painting. brown leaves the bar and meets jones at his van in the parking lot few minutes later there are other expensive looking paints in the van as well as other art, including sculptures. brown buys the painting from jones and the next day hangs it up in his office at work. unfortunately andy winson, a co worker of brown recognizes the painting as one recently stolen from a nearby art gallery. he calls the police a he dislikes brown intensely the police arrive and determine the painting is indeed stolen and is valued at $ 25,000. you are the police officer could you charge brown with a criminal offence even though he clearly states he had no knowledge that the painting was stolen? why or why not explain your answer
