Purpose: This assignment will allow you to demonstrate your understanding of the psychological impacts of identifying as a sexual minority in a heteronormative and cisnormative society.

Compose a paper responding to the following prompts:

• Describe the minority stress model.
• Describe how internalized stigma and/or internalized homophobia contribute to negative mental health outcomes.
• Compare and contrast the psychological impacts of navigating heteronormative systems as a sexual minority and cisnormative systems as a gender minority.
• How could some of these psychological impacts be mediated?
