[1] You are walking home from class one night, when you are approached by an individual wearing a trench coat.As you approach, the individual whips open the trench coat revealing twenty five Rolexs. He asks you if you would like to purchase a watch for twenty dollars, and you respond yes.A week later you take it to a jeweler for repair, and the jeweler discovers that it is my wife's stolen watch.Is my wife entitled to the return of the watch and if so, what remedy do you have against the mysterious individual in the trench coat?

[2]A common site in the back windows of pickup trucks in my area is an image of Calvin [of Calvin and Hobbes fame].You decide after college to go into business selling these items.You obtain a number of them from a supplier, and after a few weeks you are approached by a copyright attorney who shuts you down for infringement.

a) Is there a case for infringement [in particular with Calvin and Hobbes]; and

b) What is your remedy against your supplier?
