Watching the Wheels Spinners are a type of hubcap rst developed in the 1930's in which the hub- cap can spin independently of a car's wheel and there is only a small amount of friction between the hubcap and wheel. This allows for the spinner to keep turning, even when the wheel has come to a stop. A spinner with a diameter of 22 inches is spinning at a constant angular speed such that it makes 2.5 rotations per second. After 5 seconds of turning at con- stant angular speed, a constant force F = 0.040N is applied at the edge of the wheel and the spinner experiences a constant angular deceleration of 033 rad/s2 until it stops. 1. Assume the force F is applied tangent to the edge of the spinner. What is the moment of inertia of the spinner? 2. How far did a point at the edge of the spinner travel during this entire time (the time it is moving at constant angular Speed and the time it is decelerating)? 3. Would your answer to part 2 be greater than.7 less than, 01' equal to what you found if the spinner had instead been 26 inches in diameter? Explain your reasoning
