Water at 15C flows at a rate of 3000 L/min and a gauge pressure of 245 kPa through a horizontal 90 elbow made from 4 inch (nominal), schedule 40 steel pipe. Dimensions of this size of pipe are given in App. 3 of the text. Sketch a top view of the elbow, with one arm being in the x direction and the other arm being in the y direction. Include in the sketch the directions of (1), flow and (2) internal forces between the fluid and inner pipe wall, and external forces between the external pipe wall and the brackets that hold the pipe in place. Use a momentum balance to calculate the magnitude of the external force by the bracket on the pipe wall
