Water (r=103 kg/m3, =0.001 kg/m.s) flows through the below reducing elbow at a flow rate of 30 kg/s. The inlet pressure (P1) is 4105 Pa and the pressure drop through the elbow (P1-P2) is 1.5104 Pa. The crosssectional area at the inlet section (point 1) is 150 cm2 and at the outlet section (point 2) is 25 cm2. The elevation difference between the outlet and inlet points is 40 cm. Determine a) the net force (in N) to hold the reducing elbow in place and the direction of the force (show on a sketch and give the angle in degrees). b) the head loss, hL, between points 1 and 2. (Patm=101,325 Pa, g=9.81 m/s2) (Dont round pressure values, use at least 3 significant figures in calculations.)
