We are looking this week at what you need to do to plan for retirement. In this class, we have people in different age brackets and with differing ideas about retirement. Some of you may never want to retire. While the rest of us think you are crazy, you should still be planning for the future! Some of you may be very close to retirement age and wishing you had started saving sooner (teacher slowly raises hand...) Some of you may feel completely comfortable with the plan you are on and those of us wishing we had started sooner, are a bit envious! Let's just discuss what we are learning this week. What does it mean to have enough to retire? When do you plan to retire? What are considerations in your retirement income? Will you be able to collect social security? Do you plan on working part time? Will a dollar still be worth a dollar in 20 years? How does inflation affect your retirement goals? How does your current situation in life affect your retirement goals? So many questions and so many different answers! - Post 1: post your retirement goals and plans. You don't need to answer all of the questions in the second paragraph, just chose four or five which are most relevant to you. (3 to 5 sentences) - Post 2: compare your thoughts and situation to someone who is the most different from you. Compare to someone who is close to your age (if possible). (3 to 5 sentences) - Post 3: have your thoughts about retirement changed now that we have studied a little more about it? (3 to 5 sentences)
