We are now ready to start some exercises on the Hamming code, and then to check how well

it helps in protecting against isolated random bit errors.

Go the Lab page Hamming Code. As discussed in class, in the $4-7$ Hamming code, each message

consists of $4$ bits $($which could be any combination of $4$ bits, so that we consider all $16$ possibilities$)$;

for each $4-$bit message, we have a corresponding $7-$bit codeword which is computed using XOR

operations. Please review the XOR operation and the way the $7-$bit codeword is computed in the

slides or notes.

After you have worked out some examples on the page Hamming Code $($which tells you if you
