We are to design a distillation column operating at atmospheric pressure to separate a binary mixture A & B. The vapour pressure data is given in the Table below. A 100 kmol/h of a feed mixture containing 40 mol% of A and 60 mol% B at 98 C is to be separated in a column in such a way that 90% of A is recovered as a top product with a purity of 95%.
