We have been told that 71% of Earth's surface is covered in water. The 71% represents a population proportion of percentage of Earth covered by water. To demonstrate confidence levels, we will take repreated samples of Earth's surface, record how many of those samples are in water, and then construct a confidence interval based on the sample proportion. We will examine how many of those intervals correctly capture our population proportion and use that information to build a better understanding of confidence levels
