We like to design a plug-and-play protocol to allow a computer located in a broadcast domain (LAN) to find all computing, printing resources, etc. of a broadcast domain. This information is held in a media server residing in a LAN. When a new machine moves to the LAN, it first contact the DHCP server and gets a new IP address. Assume this step is completed. It then needs to contact the media server to get the computing and printing resources of the LAN. But there is a problem. (a) The new client computer does not know the IP address of the media server. (b) It also needs the port number which the media server program is running on. Suggest a simple method to solve this problem (a) and (b).
