(Week 10: Budgetary Control

In this module we will learn about budgetary control through

• flexible budgets,
• variance analysis, and
• cost control.

We will explore the types of variances that an organization can calculate and analyze in order to isolate the area which may be causing a cost or revenue to increase or decrease.

We will discuss how variance analysis can be used to help control costs within an organization, although it must be used in conjunction with other forms of control to ensure that the company continues to emphasize quality, continuous improvement, and employee empowerment).
