Week 5 Discussion 2Developing team leadership skills is crucial in my line of work; critical care is most successfulwhen functioning as a team. As a leader post-pandemic, one of the leadership strengths that I relyon is innovation and creativity. Fostering an environment of innovation allows the team to createa working environment that allows creativity and optimal success (Watson, 2019). I take time toget to know each team member's strengths and opportunities, as well as their goals and needs. Ibuild on that knowledge to create creative teams that balance personalities and needs/wants. Ichallenge my team to think outside of the box for solutions to organizational problems.For a team to be successful, there must be an environment that fosters psychological safety,continuous learning, communication, diversity, and support from the organization (Super, 2020).Another leadership strength I rely on as a leader is relationship development and establishingtrust. When doing my monthly one-on-one with my employees, we discuss if they need anythingfrom me as a leader. These conversations include how well they feel the communication is andhow well they feel supported.
