We've discussed a new topic this week, and we've talked about Money, Banks and Bank of Canada. Interestingly I just recently found out that our bank accounts accounts are called Demand Deposits and per Prof Darren the bank has 72 hours to give my money demand. I did not know that this is the case, since me as a depositor I know I have the right to withdraw money from my account anytime, but the bank has the right to give it to me right away but they have 72 hours to give it to me. Similar to Demand Loans, the bank has the right to have your loan be demanded within 48 hours. Another thing that I've learned something new is the Money Measures, What is M1, M2 and M3, I did not know them before and learned that M3 includes M1 and M2. M1 comprises of currency in circulation and demand deposits and M2 comprises everything in M1 plus the personal savings and term deposits. What would happen if the Banks creates more money by printing more money? Would the value of the Canadian money be worthless? I would like to learn more on the Bank of Canada
