my thesis is: The best way to fight corporate crime is to increase the penalties for those convicted of such crimes, to increase regulation and oversight of businesses, and to increase public awareness of corporate crime.

In Canada securities regulation is done at the provincial or territorial level which is different than the American model as the SEC is Federal.
