What are the greatest factors contributing to the rise in secularism in the modern age? Nonreligion (usually agnosticism/atheism or humanism) is the fastest growing segment of the "religious" demographic in America today (according to Pew (Links to an external site.)). Most of the nonreligious are younger Gen Xers, Millennials, and their children signaling a radical change in religious demographics in the next century. Even religions that grew quite well from the 19th-20th centuries (like Pentecostalism, Adventism, Jehovah's Witnesses, and Mormonism) have stagnated/flat growth over the last decade- not going more than the global growth rate. After reading the chapter and watching the videos, do you think this pattern will continue? Why?
