what is a peer response to: I think I could assume many of the roles listed above. Advocate, consultant, advisor, facilitator of indigenous support systems, and facilitator of indigenous healing systems all seem like roles I could successfully assume. I do not consider myself a change agent, however. I am better at helping people, working with people to help themselves. Change agents create change. I'm more of a person to encourage and equip others to become the change they wish to see. Assuming any of these roles requires a commitment. It will be necessary to learn as much about the community one is working with, in order to be effective. It may mean stepping out of a comfort zone.
