What is the advantage of creating a SUM measure in the Data Model versus placing the field in the Values quadrant of the PivotTable? The SUM measure is "portable" and can be used in other measure calculations. It is more accurate than the calculation in the PivotTable. Once you connect a PivotTable to a data model, you can no longer add fields to the Values quadrant. It is the only way to add fields to the Values quadrant of a Power PivotTable.
