What is the proper technique for reading the meniscus on a graduated cylinder

You must look down at the level of the water and take the top of the meniscus for the reading

You must take the highest reading on the graduated cylinder and subtract the amount of water added to the cylinder

You can use a ruler to measure the height of the liquid

Your eye must be at the same plane of the liquid level and you must take the reading at the bottom of the meniscus
