What is the purpose of the Restatements? 2. Should the Restatements be forward thinking, stating what the law "should be" or simply a compilation of what the law "is," at least in the minds of the author/editors? 3. What problems do you see with the Restatements as a concept? These problems may be intellectual, social, legal, diversity, or any others. 4. Do you think the Restatements are even necessary any more? Since our law is far more expansive and far more "codified" than it was a century ago, when the Restatements began, do we even need the Restatements anymore?
