What Would You Do? The juvenile officer assigned to Trey's case files a petition charging Trey with robbery. Trey's father arrives at the police station and is informed that Trey is being released into his custody until his hearing. During the time between his release and the hearing, Trey seems to be on his best behavior. He attends school regularly, comes home directly afterwards, and complies with all of his father's requests. At Trey's initial hearing, he admits that he committed the robbery. He states that he wanted a new pair of shoes and knew his father would not buy him the shoes, which cost over $200.
