When you are in a decision making role, particularly when it comes to hiring decisions, oftentimes your own biases play a role in those decisions. If you are immediately uncomfortable with a person, it is unlikely that will change over time. If you already think someone different from you can't do as well as some like you, but because they do meet the qualifications for the job, you hire them anyway, you are unlikely to promote that person to more responsibility (and hence a higher income). These are the reasons many people of color and women change jobs more frequently than white men: they are less likely to get recognition as promotable once hired.
What biases do you harbor and how might they influence your decisions as a manager and what are some things you can do (use references from the text please) to minimize the impact of those biases. Note that I refer to gender and ethnicity but your biases could be something such as "don't trust a person who doesn't drink". You must identify at least two biases. The technical rules of business writing are not applicable to this paper but grammar and formal writing rules do apply. Your paper should be between 500 and 750 words.
