Successful salespeople sometimes need a pep talk from their sales manager, and yet there are times when an outsider's voice may also be desired.Through the years, there have been many excellent motivational speakers that have lifted spirits and assisted salespeople as well as sales managers meet and exceed their goals.Some experts consider the following people to have been or are currently good motivational speakers: Earl Nightingale, Eva Longoria, Brian Holloway,Brian Tracy, Suzie Orman, Zig Ziglar, Oprah Winfrey, Tom Hopkins, Les Brown, Mel Robbins, Barbara Corcoran, and Tony Robbins.(You may prefer other speakers.)

Critics of motivational speakers suggest they are big and unnecessary expenses that can be avoided if a sales manager/leader simply does their job.

Scenario:

Regardless of your personal opinion; for the purposes of this exercise, please assume the role of a local sales manager that is being tasked by their senior leadership team to assist them in reversing their company's current downward trend in sales. In addition, to the downward pressure on sales, your own team is becoming frustrated with many internal as well as external factors that are contributing to this situation. Consequently, morale is low and some of the top sales people have left the company, and others are quietly telling their peers that their departure is coming soon.

More specifically, the senior sales leadership has tased you with identifying and recommending a motivational speaker to present at the next quarterly regional sales meeting as part of the larger recovery strategy. You should consider the prior list as well as other possible prospects to present in front of your sales professionals.
