Why do you agree or disagree with what your classmate said?

1.2 This article specifically focuses on characteristics or qualities of an individual that play an important role in leadership. Leading is not something that one is automatically able to do. One is able to develop and strengthen skills that help one lead overtime through learning. In this article there are eight qualities highlighted which include, authenticity, curiosity, analytical prowess, adaptability, creativity, comfort with ambiguity, resilience, and empathy. Within each quality, there are different ways that one can develop and straighten them so that one can have effective leadership.

1.3 The leadership style that the article most closely refers to is the situational leadership theory. This theory focuses on how leaders will incorporate different strategies depending on the situation and different needs. By being able to adjust the strategies that they use, they are more aware and able to analyze themselves as the leader, the group, but also what the situation is. Leaders being able to face these different situations is what helps them learn and grow. There isn't a predetermined trait that effects leadership, but how an individual is able to take what works and what doesn't and use that as learning experience is what does.
