Why does the atomic mass of an element (in amu) equals 1 mole of that element in grams? Is 1 amu =1 mole? Is 1 amu =1 gram? I'm just having diffculty understanding why if the mass is reported in amu, it is the same number reported the molar mass in grams. They are two different units.
